Project Title: Refurb and Extension to St Pier College for the Young Epilepsy Charity
Project Value: £10m+
Project Brief: We worked alongside Capital and Provincial Ltd to provide acoustic consultancy and design services through RIBA Design stage 2 to 6.
The project involved the refurbishment and extension of St Piers College, Lingfield which is run by the Young Epilepy Charity. Our role was to ensure the development complied with Building Bulletin 93 (BB93): Acoustic Design of Schools – Performance Standards. We initally conducted an environmental noise survey. The design stage assessment included advice on internal ambient noise levels, sound insulation of walls and floors, reverberation control and plant noise emissions. Once the refurbishment is complete we will be returning to undertake pre-completion testing to assess compliance with the BB93 requirements.
