In 2023, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council announced an exciting new vision for the former site of the Elsecar Ironworks – now the Elesecar Heritage Centre – including a new heritage railway, new rail college, outdoor events area and more.
We were approached by Purcell Architects in York to provide acoustic consultancy services for the project. We provided detailed acoustic design advice throughout RIBA Design Stages 3 and 4, including sound insulation design, reverberation control, building services noise control and external noise issues.
