Purpose
Improved acoustic comfort
Black Finch panels blend into the drama studio ceiling.
Ceiling panels fit between the existing strip lights and projector.
Overhead acoustic treatment keeps the performance floor clear.
Black panels complement the studio’s dark walls and stage area.
The Project
Teachers using the drama studio were experiencing uncomfortable, harsh sound conditions, with particular concerns around sensitivity to noise. As the room was already finished, the acoustic treatment needed to work entirely within the available ceiling area.
Our consultants completed on site acoustic testing and used the results to calculate the required treatment. Black Finch panels were then arranged across the ceiling, providing effective absorption while complementing the dark, performance focused appearance of the studio.

Ceiling absorption extends across the teaching and performance space.
Panels are arranged around the existing projector and lighting.
A regular ceiling layout leaves the windows and walls unobstructed.
Black ceiling panels maintain the character of the drama studio.
01
Test
Measure the existing acoustic conditions and understand how the studio was being used.
02
Design
Calculate the required absorption and develop a ceiling only layout around the existing services.
03
Install
Fit black Finch panels in a coordinated arrangement without affecting the usable wall areas.
The Result
The completed scheme reduced reflected sound and created a more controlled and comfortable teaching environment. The black panels sit naturally within the drama studio and make the acoustic treatment part of its visual identity.
